Who We Are

Abby believes that how we gather matters. She’s spent years bringing people together for honest conversation, reflection, and meaningful collaboration. Abby is especially curious about intergenerational connection and how hierarchical, coercive systems in schools shape the way we relate to ourselves, each other, and the natural world.
At Equinox Farm, Abby hosts retreats, facilitates team conversations, and supports groups looking for a slower, more thoughtful space to reconnect with their work and each other.
Abby has a degree in Educational Philosophy with training in restorative justice, circle practice, and healing-centred learning. Prior to launching the farm business, she co-founded and directed a self-directed learning centre for teens and currently runs an educational consultancy.
Sean’s enthusiasm for growing good food came first from a passion for eating good food. When he realized that he could grow or gather foods far superior to most of what he can buy, there was no looking back.
He WWOOFed, apprenticed, and worked on organic farms from BC’s Cortes Island to an abandoned Newfoundland outport. Along the way he also went to film school, taught English in Latin America, and wrote freelance articles for newspapers and magazines.
Since co-founding Ferme et Forêt in 2014, most of his energies have gone into building a sustainable farm business, but he still finds time to write about food and farming at Farmer’s Table.
